Description:
The Focus FireStore FS-1 converts any IEEE-1394 (FireWire, i.Link) drive into a high performance digital disk recorder/player. Record directly to disk from your digital camcorder, VTR, or mixer. When you are ready to edit, your clips are immediately available to your NLE system - there is no need to capture!
CAPTURE DURING ACQUISITION
FireStore allows you to record edit-ready clips live to disk at the acquisition stage. FireStore's compact, rugged packaging and the option for battery power gives you the freedom of operating in the field.
NO NEED FOR CAPTURING AT YOUR NLE
Your computer will remain free for editing and your camera will be available for more shooting. You'll no longer have to wait for the capturing process before you can get started. Just plug the hard disk into your computer and it will appear on your desktop loaded with your edit-ready video clips. FireStore's unique concept allows you to record live to raw dv (.dv), AVI Type 1 or AVI Type 2 video files. There is no need to re-boot or configure NLE capture settings. You are ready to edit!

Simultaneously record video and audio to disk and to your camcorder's tape. Finish shooting your production with the confidence of having two identical copies of your footage.
VIDEO PLAYBACK
FireStore is ideal for use in presentation environments. Simply record or save edited footage to the drive and then use FireStore for playback. No cueing of tapes is required.
RANDOM ACCESS
When using FireStore and your FireWire HDD as a playback device, it is possible to navigate from clip to clip with the push of a button. There is no need to spool back and forth through tape. This means you can quickly locate the clips you need or delete the footage you don't need.
EMBEDDED AUDIO SUPPORT
FireStore fully supports DV embedded digital audio - either 2-ch (16-bit, 48kHz) or 4-ch (12-bit, 32kHz.)
FLEXIBLE CONTROL
Record, play and navigate using FireStore's VTR type controls. FireStore clearly displays mode, timecode and status. Preview your footage by playing directly back from disk. Multiple speed forward/backward search (including single frame) and loop playback (single clip or entire disk) are standard features.
MULTIPLE DRIVE SUPPORT
A single 26GB FireWire drive can store approximately 2 hours of DV video. Extend this record time by daisy chaining up to 8 FireWire HDDs* to FireStore! Use a combination of HDD sizes to tailor record times to your particular needs.
